Why I Started Mila Inspired

I grew up in Kenya, where elephants weren't symbols — they were neighbors.
I watched them move across the land with a wisdom and tenderness that never left me. They remembered everything. They protected each other fiercely. They grieved their losses with a dignity that humbled me.


When I came to America, I brought that love with me. I wanted to shed a light on the harsh reality that elephants around the world were facing and to highlight what was being lost. So I started Mila Inspired. And then I started The Herd. Because elephant lovers deserve a place to gather. To share. To grieve together, celebrate together, and fight for these animals together.

I was born in Kenya, where elephants don't just roam the land — they roam your soul.

I'm the founder of Mila Inspired and the matriarch of Mila's Herd — a growing community of people who feel something deep when they see an elephant. Who grieve what we're losing. Who believe these creatures deserve more than our admiration. They deserve our action.

My dream is heartfelt and enormous — to someday open an elephant sanctuary in Kenya. A safe place for rescued elephants to live freely, protected, and loved.
